The problem with Passive Punishment.
Why people like terrorists, rapists and the sort should not be given death sentences.
You can listen to this on my IGTV on my instagram page @iamkrs9.
Passive Punishment, there is no such thing. I have made it up for the purpose of this piece of content, it is not meaningless though. And this is not only a piece of content. I want to present an idea. But first, what am I calling passive punishment? Passive punishment is when you punish someone for the wrongs they have committed and you just assume that things would turn out better after the period of punishment. And I think almost all present forms of punishment are passive punishment. But most of the time they would not turn out better, because you are missing one important fact and that is realisation. The person who has wronged, needs to realise what is it that they have committed is wrong. They should be able to feel and be convinced of their own misdeeds. Until then, the misdeeds won’t be registered as “something wrong” in their minds and they might not stop doing it. Even if they do stop it, it might be only because of the fear of “punishment” or the fear of facing societal shame again! But the buried corrupt thought process might still be alive, staying dormant, waiting to pounce and capture the mind of the host at a later convenient time in a suitable environment.
